A new prominent feature this summer on Belden Pond is our new Aqua Park. It features seven large inflatable play structures, three slides, and various obstacles. The highlight, ‘Jungle Joe,’ stands 12.5 feet tall, with fun additions like a circular Rockit water rocker, trampoline, central pavilion, balancing obstacle course, floating mats, climbing areas, and more. This is part of the Belden Pond Lakefront improvements in the Connect, Inspire, Transform Capital Campaign. A lakeside pavilion and beach bathhouse will be added before next summer.
The Aqua Park, located on the west side of Belden Pond, can host up to 70 campers at a time. Our pool is used heavily during summer camp season, so we needed more spaces for our campers to stay cool during the hot Arkansas summers. This will do just that.
“The park allows a larger portion of our campers to be playing together at the same time, and with our counselors,” said Bradley Doherty, Ferncliff’s Chief Operations Officer.
The park is designed for all ages and has already attracted mission groups, family reunions, and more. It’s open seasonally from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The pool and Aquapark can be rented throughout the summer on Saturdays for birthday parties. For more information, click here.
Last summer, ‘Jungle Joe’ was installed on Belden Pond, and was a big hit with campers. This led us to expand the park. We added more inflatables and new life jackets.
Due to the generosity of our donors, we continue to expand our camp offerings, provide fun and engaging recreational activities, and a beautiful, safe, and sustainable environment for young campers to enjoy, make friends, play, laugh, learn, and heal.
And we are so appreciative of you! Because of your gifts, Ferncliff provides transformative experiences like the ones for our campers.
