About Camp

About Camp

Ferncliff has been welcoming campers for generations, and we take seriously the trust families place in us.

  • Serving campers and families since 1937
  • American Camp Association (ACA) accredited
Ferncliff is in an elite group of camps. 25% of camps in the U.S. are accredited. This represents a commitment to high standards beyond state-mandated minimums.
  • Soirée Recommends Camp – 2026
  • Counselors are handpicked, background checked, and highly trained

We design camp around small family groups, so campers are known by name and never lost in the shuffle. Your child isn’t a number here—they’re part of a community that notices, cares, and supports them.

Safety, Care & Connection

Safety and care are woven into every part of camp life.

  • Nurses on site 24/7
  • Red Cross–trained lifeguards for all water activities
  • Thoughtful accommodation of food allergies and dietary needs
  • Support for first-time nerves, homesickness, and big feelings

For overnight campers, we also help families stay connected through a parent-camper letter system, offering comfort and reassurance throughout the week.

New to Camp?

If your child has never been to camp before, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to figure it out on your own. Ferncliff offers camp options designed specifically for first-time campers, with caring staff, small family groups, and experiences that meet kids where they are.

What Camp Feels Like

Camp at Ferncliff is a place where kids feel known, safe, and free to be themselves. Days are spent outdoors – playing, exploring nature, and trying new things – while caring adults create space for growth, confidence, and belonging. Campers spend their days swimming in our pool and creeks, playing on the Aqua Park, hiking and exploring nature, enjoying field games, and trying camp favorites like archery, slingshots, and hatchet throwing—plus so much more.

Ours is a kind, inclusive, and welcoming community, where children of all faiths and backgrounds are embraced. We live out our faith through care for one another, hospitality, and love – creating a camp experience rooted in connection, respect, and joy.

After a week of camp, campers of all ages at Ferncliff will:

  • Expand their independence
  • Strengthen their sense of identity
  • Develop interpersonal skills
  • Interact with creation
  • Explore their Christian faith

Ferncliff respects the rights and dignity of all campers, guests, and staff, regardless of race, ethnicity, culture, gender, sexuality, ability, political affiliation, or religious beliefs. In turn, we expect all individuals to respect the rights of others regardless of their differences while attending camp sessions at Ferncliff. Ferncliff strives to create an inclusive environment, and staff are trained to set and expect positive examples of behavior for campers.
