Ferncliff Receives Nearly 900 Pounds of Supplies at Sharefest
Earlier this month, Ferncliff Director of Mission and Outreach Emily Hooker and our trusty Boxanne the Box Truck hit the road to Republic, Missouri, for a Sharefest event with Festival of Sharing! The Festival of Sharing is an amazing cooperative response to hunger, poverty, and injustice in Missouri and beyond, supported by the Missouri Conference of the United Methodist Church and other denominational partners. Sharefest is a series of regional, interfaith events that collect and distribute supplies to support agencies across Missouri and beyond, helping address hunger, poverty, and injustice. These gatherings bring together people of faith to share resources and provide for neighbors in need. This was one of seven regional events hosted throughout September and October.
At Sharefest, Emily joined other volunteers to assemble kits, organize donations, and gather supplies like blankets, food boxes, personal hygiene items, and more. After a morning of hard work, Boxanne was loaded up with CWS disaster assistance kits to bring back to the Ferncliff warehouse.

Volunteers at the DAC will do quality control checks on the kits, repackage them into CWS boxes, and store them in our inventory so we are prepared when requests for shipment are made to our warehouse through CWS. Sharefest garnered Ferncliff 418 kits (886 lbs of stuff!) like school kits, hygiene kits, emergency clean-up buckets, and period packs!
We are so grateful for the support we have in this important ministry. Our disaster assistance operations are made possible through partners, volunteers, and donors like you. Thank you for your gifts to support Ferncliff and this important outreach ministry.
