Ferncliff just received word that we have been awarded a GoodUse matching grant of up to $60,000 for energy efficiency improvements to the Brown Center!  This is incredible news and essentially means that any gift we receive towards this effort will be matched up to $60,000.

For some years, there has been a need to restore and renovate this facility.  We have been patiently waiting for the right window of time to schedule the work, as the Brown Center is rarely unoccupied for extended periods of time.   And, realizing that it would be difficult to fund these improvements through our operating budget, we have been simultaneously searching for a matching grant partner to provide a significant portion of the cost.  Now we have both, with the Brown Center unoccupied due to the coronavirus and the matching award from the GoodUse grant.

It seems like everything is coming together to make this investment in Ferncliff’s future happen.  Now in order to capitalize on the $60,000 matching gift, we need your help.  Please prayerfully consider what you may be able to offer to help us receive as much benefit from this grant as possible. Any amount you are able to give will help and will be matched dollar for dollar by the GoodUse grant and help Ferncliff continue to become one of the most sustainable camp and conference centers in the country.

For a little Ferncliff history, the Brown Center was built in the early 90’s after a significant gift was received from the late William Clark Brown Jr’s will.  Without this gift and the subsequently built hotel-style rooms Ferncliff would not have been able to grow into the center of mission and ministry it is today, as we now host thousands of adults, teens and youth for conferences, camps, service projects and faith formation events each year.

Mr. Brown’s gift gave Ferncliff a space to host people from across the country and a means to provide income to cover our operational costs.  Your gift will help us maintain and improve these facilities that have sustained Ferncliff for the last 30 years.  Any amount that you are able to contribute will be doubled and help sustain Ferncliff’s ministries and programs for many years to come.  Thank you.
