Hello Friends,
When I first came to Ferncliff I was afraid that I was not going to experience fall. The heat seemed to be sticking around just to pick on the sweaty Nebraska girl, who still wore flannel in protest of the 90 degree weather in September. But don’t worry my friends fall time is upon us and this means crisp air, changing colors, crunching of leaves, and fire pits with lots of s’mores.
Fall here at Ferncliff is beautiful and I have found my favorite spot to admire God’s wonderful creation. When I need a break or just need to sit down and talk with God I visit JMO Tabernacle overlooking the Belden Pond. Every time I visit this spot an overwhelming peace fills me up and I can’t help but smile. The other day I went and ate my lunch on the porch looking out at the pond. I took a deep breath and felt the sun on my face and thought, “Man, I am lucky I get to call this place home for a year!”
I am now two months into my internship here at Ferncliff and I could not be happier that this is the direction God has pointed me in. I look forward to learning more about camp ministry and spending time in God’s beautiful creation! I guess you could say I am FALLing for Ferncliff.
Yours Truly,
Kelsey
