Here at Ferncliff, May is a busy month of transition. Our Nature Preschool and LearnCliff are finishing the school year – celebrating their time together and looking forward to the summer ahead. Our Residential Volunteer ends their season of service and heads off to their next adventure. Our Summer Staff are arriving and being trained in all the ways they will care for campers and mission teams and program participants this summer. Picnic tables are being moved to their summer locations, and the pool is being inspected for a new season of swimmers. Buildings are being cleaned and re-cleaned and the kitchen and dining hall are being freshened up.
I’m struck today by this Irish blessing – for both the ending of the school year and the beginning of summer. May it speak to you in your transitions too.
“May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And rain fall softly on your fields.
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of God’s hand.”
– Irish Blessing
