Rainy Days In Summer Camp Posted December 1, 2015

Rainy Days

Rain, Rain, go away come again another day is my first thought after a week full of rainy days. After all that rain I was searching for a bit of sunshine. But yesterday I brushed off my rain boots and jacket and took a look around me and thought about the beauty of rain, along with taking some time to jump in a puddle or two. I came up with two words that rain means to me. These are refresh and grow.  This made me think about my life. What in my life can I let the metaphorical rain wash away to refresh my spirit and continue to nurture growth? Because just like sunshine serves a purpose so does the rain in our lives.

The picture above, I took here at Ferncliff underneath a large tree by my home Redbud.  The leaves are falling to the ground and through them you can see this vibrant green of the grass popping through. After a long summer of little rain the earth is singing its praise. When looking at this picture I can’t help but think of the lyrics to one of my favorite songs. It goes, “Life is a canvas you paint in the mind. Colors dance, spill outside the lines.”   What I am enjoying about my journey here at Ferncliff is that it is an empty canvas.  I am painting and filling it up with memories and adventures. Through the sunshine and rain I am creating a beautiful picture of my time spent here.

I also want to say thanks for all the love and support that I have received well here at Ferncliff.  I appreciate all the thoughts and prayers sent my way. Please continue to follow my journey here at Ferncliff as I write a monthly blog.

May you my friends find joy in both the sunshine and the rain!
