Ferncliff Offering Free Camp Noah Experience for Kids Affected by Recent Tornadoes June 5th-9th

The tornadoes that came through Arkansas this spring left a devastating impact on our communities. We can still see the physical damage to buildings, businesses, homes, trees, and parks in our area. The psychological and emotional damage may be harder to see, but we know that children who have lived through this disaster need a safe space to help heal and process their experiences.

Ferncliff is excited to partner with Camp Noah to provide to provide a day camp program for elementary-aged children in communities impacted by disaster. Through creative activities and play, children can experience the power of hope and healing through Camp Noah’s resiliency curriculum.

Camp Noah day camp will take place from June 5th-9th, 2023 at Westover Hills Presbyterian Church in Little Rock. It is for children in grades kindergarten-5th. There is no cost to families to attend this program!

The day camp runs from Monday-Friday. Drop off is from 8:30am-9:00am, and pickup is from 3:30pm-4:00pm.

Spaces are filled on a first come, first served basis, and spaces are limited to 50 participants!

The Camp Noah curriculum consists of 10 three-hour sessions. Each session builds on the previous ones. Sessions include a variety of activities, including small and large group time, music, skits, puppet shows, crafts and recreation.

Each session of Camp Noah is focused around a particular theme. Activities are designed to build and reinforce specific resiliency skills, such as a sense of self-worth, an understanding of oneself as unique and special, and an understanding that we are each an important part of a diverse community.

Why Camp Noah?
Camp Noah uses a proven resiliency-building curriculum that enables children to process their disaster and trauma experiences. Each camp is customized to the local community and offers children a safe space to tell their stories and build the resiliency skills they need to move forward. The camp provides a welcoming place where “kids can be kids” and connect with their peers; at the same time, it gives them the opportunity to process, learn and grow after a disaster. Camp Noah equips children with the skills and knowledge to work through tough situations and talk about their feelings.
