Easter-In-A-Basket - Digital Options

Given the limits of our ability to produce more Easter-in-a-Basket boxes and the incredible response we’ve received, we have now made the Guidebook available for digital download and a few specialty items available for purchase.

To learn more about Ferncliff’s Easter-in-a-Basket, click here.

If you would like to put together Easter-In-A-Basket boxes at home or for your church community, you can purchase the digital download of the Easter-In-A-Basket Guidebook, print copies for the number you’ll put together, purchase the supplies and assemble the kits yourselves. We’ve included the list of items for the boxes on the last page of the digital file. There are two items that are a bit more difficult (and more expensive) to find – and we can provide those for you as add-on items when you purchase.

What’s in the Guidebook?

Each Easter-in-a-Basket Guidebook comes with 8 sections of activities and supplies– one for each day starting on Palm Sunday and ending with Easter. Each section will include a mini lesson with a scripture story, reflection questions, and a prayer. In addition, each section will have a few activities that connect to the scripture and theme, such as games, recipes, crafts, service activities, and Holy Week traditions from around the world. You’ll also get to make your own Easter basket step-by-step throughout the week. Recognizing that these are busy times, these activities are meant to be easily woven into your busy days. What a great way to get ready for Easter at home!

Who should receive an Easter-In-A-Basket?

Easter-in-a-Basket is designed to be intergenerational. Activities are appropriate for families with children or youth, and many activities would work well when done together as a family. However, there will always be an option for folks living on their own – whether that’s folks engaging independently, or grandparents connecting with grandkids from a distance. Scripture reflection questions will cover various levels, some relatable even for younger children and others offering deeper reflection for mature disciples. (Note that the supplies for each box will provide for one of each activity – for example, there will be materials to make one cross craft – so you might want to order a box for each sibling!)

Easter-in-a-Basket would be great for anyone who wants to experience Holy Week in a new way. Easter-in-a-Basket could be great for Sunday School classes separated, youth ready to dive deeper, or seniors living in assisted living facilities.

How much does it cost?

Recognizing that organizations may be using this digital Guidebook for different numbers of people, the price is dependent on how many copies you will print and share of the digital file. Your purchase entitles you to print only up to the maximum number of copies for your selected price level. Remember that you will need to additionally purchase the physical boxes and supplies for assembly.

I’m in! How do I purchase?

Churches, families and organizations can purchase the Easter-in-a-Basket Guidebook digital version online here. You’ll also be able to purchase the two specialty items as add-on sets. Within 24 hours after you’ve made your purchase, you will receive an email which will direct you to the pdf files for download, and will let you know about shipping of any add-on items.

Frequently Asked Questions

IF I WANT TO PUT TOGETHER BOXES FOR MY FAMILY, CHURCH, OR ORGANIZATION, WHAT ALL GOES IN WITH THE GUIDEBOOK?

There is a full list of all the items we included in Easter-in-a-Basket boxes on the last page of the digital Guidebook files. All of the items (with two exceptions*) can be found in your church or in a craft store near you.

*These two specialty items can be purchased through us here.

CAN WE ADD TO THE BOXES?

We found with our summer Camp-In-A-Box and our Advent-in-a-Box that many churches offered additional virtual/online content that enhanced the boxed experience – and they loved it! We imagine that churches could build off the Easter-in-a-Basket scriptures and activities for virtual worship or church-specific activities. Feel free to add your own community’s activities and items to the boxes!

CAN A PRESBYTERY PURCHASE THE DIGITAL GUIDEBOOK FOR ALL OF THEIR CHURCHES?

Yes! We are excited to be partnering with Presbyteries to make this resource more widely available. The cost of digital access for your presbytery will be invoiced at $500 per presbytery. If this cost is a barrier, please let us know so we can work out a way to share this resource.

To purchase Easter-in-a-Basket Guidebook digital access for an entire Presbytery, fill out this online form. Once we receive your form, we will confirm and invoice the listed contact person. Your presbytery will then have a discount code set up for churches to use. This discount code will allow churches to order/download the digital guidebook at no cost to them.

OUR CHURCH ISN’T PRESBYTERIAN. CAN WE STILL MAKE BOXES?

Absolutely! Ferncliff serves campers and guests from many different denominations, including some who do not have a faith tradition. This resource is intentionally ecumenical and anyone is welcome to take advantage of this opportunity.

DOES THIS GUIDEBOOK FOLLOW LECTIONARY?

The scriptures for Easter-in-a-Basket do not follow lectionary, though the passages are often found in the lectionary passages for Holy Week and Easter. To view the Easter-in-A-Basket Scope and Sequence, click here.

I JUST WANT ONE COPY. CAN I ORDER A GUIDEBOOK INDIVIDUALLY FOR MY FAMILY OR MYSELF?

Yes, you can! Send an email to jocelyn@ferncliff.org and indicate that you want the discount code to purchase the guidebook for individual use. We recommend checking with your church first to see if they are planning on ordering Easter-in-a-Basket.
