At Ferncliff, we welcome transgender, nonbinary, and gender non-conforming people as guests and full participants in all of our programs.
We do not view this as a political statement or stance. It is an expression of hospitality, inclusion, and love. It is our understanding of Christian faith, values, spirituality, and fellowship that LGBTQIA+ individuals are wonderfully made in the image of God and an essential, beautiful part of our community. It is in alignment with our mission statement, which states, “As an expression of God’s love, Ferncliff welcomes people into a life of caring for Creation, others, and themselves.”
Ferncliff is a special place: an environment where children, youth, and adults alike can develop self-confidence, build community, explore their surroundings, learn about God, rest and be refreshed, feel the presence of the Holy Spirit, embrace creativity, and learn more about themselves. We strive to create a safe and affirming environment that embraces diversity and the idea that we are better when we love and learn from one another – particularly those who may be very different from us.
We believe that LGBTQIA+ individuals have a place at the table. Ferncliff is proud to invite all to such a table.
Happy Transgender Day of Visibility. To our transgender, nonbinary, and gender non-conforming friends, campers, guests, and staff: we see you, we love you, and we welcome you.
